Bell Prairie, the Henry F Gillette Home ; Home of Henry F. Gillette at Bell Prairie on Galveston Bay from 1860 until his death in 1896. He was a cousin of Dr. Ashbel Smith, and he served as Superintendent of the Bayland Orphanage for about fifteen years.
