Booster Club parade float in 1934; Float, in Pelly, ready to join the parade. Humble Booster Club was formed during the Depression of the '30s to help boost the sale of Humble products. The first club was formed at the Baytown Refinery the brainchild of Harold A. Halsey Sr. The movement spread over the state. Humble Booster Clubs accounted for more than $50,000 worth of new business in one year.
The man behind the float was its driver and steel works employee (Name unknown). The man in the white shirt is Pelly City Marshal Virgil C Porter. The young girl in front of the float is Billie Jean Porter-Barrow-Jones.
